Large-scale datasets are commonly used to train artificial intelligence systems. So far, most research has focused primarily on exposing AI models to these datasets and optimizing their performance through training. In the future, however, AI systems will need to autonomously identify which skills are useful from the data and continuously improve their parameters based on those discoveries. I am particularly interested in understanding what constitutes a useful skill and how such discovered skills can be effectively learned and incorporated into an AI system.
